Brian Outdoors will be participating in the Danish Outdoor Festival 2019

On 26 – 28 April, Outsite will be arranging the Danish Outdoor Festival for the 7th consecutive year in collaboration with Skovskolen KU. They have therefore moved to Nødebo and the wonderful surroundings of Gribskov forest. Experience a tent exhibition, hammock exhibition, competitions, workshops and lectures. Meet Influencers, Bloggers and YouTubers. Experience the shops and exhibitors.

Danish Outdoor Festival 2019

Program

At the Danish Outdoor Festival you can experience a lot of outdoor life, meeting associations, tour providers, manufacturers and shops. You can attend cool workshops and learn a lot of new skills. You can stay for free for the whole weekend in a sleeping bag & tent brought along or try something new (tents & hammocks). But remember to bring your own gear if the display tents & hammocks are taken already.

You can buy delicious food from various outdoor chefs or bring your own. You can get good festival discounts in the many shops and you can come and go as you please. You can also stay the whole weekend.

Things you can try out at the festival

Tents

You can participate free of charge in the tent workshop, which runs continuously during the festival. You can also try out a tent before you buy! You can even stay in it. Free of charge.

Hammocks

You can participate free of charge in the hammock workshop, which runs continuously during the festival. You can also try a hammock before you buy. Free of charge.

Make your own axe

Create your own axe along with Wetterlings (SE). They have their axe heads and shafts and some demo models. Not free – costs involved.

Make your own knife

Together with Jonas Bigler you can make your own knife. Jonas also offers other workshops. Price: Knife blade kr. 10, – pr. cm, shaft: kr. 10-75, – Tools can be rented.

Make your own sheath for axes and fire steels

Together with Nicos Leather Works you can make your own sheath for axes & fire steels. Price: fire steel sheath: kr. 100, – Axe sheath: kr. 200

Wood carving

Together with Jonas Als you can try to carve some wood. Jonas has various workshops with word carving. Price kr. 100, –

Ultra Light Hiking and gear

Together with Brian from Brian Outdoors you can look at and learn about UL gear and hiking. The fascinating world where things weigh a little less so you can experience more. Free of charge.

Micro Adventure

Get started with micro adventures with Maria from Curly Camper. It’s small and light adventures that give you energy and are easy to plan. Free of charge.

Hiking

Try a hike along with Dansk Vandrelaug and Outsite. The tours go around in Gribskov forest and the school’s forested area. Free of charge.

Map and Compass

Try the map and compass workshop, where you learn the basics of navigation along with Outsite. Free of charge.

Bushcraft

Try Bushcraft with Bushcraft Denmark. Make your own birch bark holder or bow drill (free) or your own Mora knife (kr 150, -).

Lecture

Saturday afternoon and evening there are exciting lectures. Learn about the Camino de Santiago, sustainability in production and bushcraft. Free of charge.

There are bonfires and festival atmosphere throughout the festival. There are small stalls with coffee / tea as well as beer and water. You can also make snobrød (Danish bonfire bread) and cook sausages. In the evening there are areas with bonfires. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink.

From Copenhagen: Take S-train line A to Hillerød and from here bus 307. Alternatively, you can use the local train to Gribsø Station (press for stop) and walk about 3 km from here. From Kagerup Station there are approx. 4 km.
From Helsingør: 930R the local train to Hillerød and from here bus 307. Alternatively you can take the local train to Kratbjerg Station and go from here.
